I'd just like to say I agree with your post about the "forgotten princesses" because they didn't do what they did "for love" but in the end they did find love. It's stupid for people to say they're not as good as Merida because they found love. Being independent doesn't mean you can't love someone. They're excellent role models for young girls because they're princesses who've loved themselves before ever loving a man.

You make an excellent point, because they and other princess, though not forgotten, all made decisions based on what they wanted, not because they wanted to fall in love. And although some were only interested in love, later Disney princesses have evolved into girls who don’t need to find love right away/need to base their decisions on love.

And just because they fell in love doesn’t make them any less as good a role model as Merida, especially since they were older then she is. So i can see why Merida wouldn’t have fallen in love, since she did feel she was too young for that. 

But you’re right, their excellent role models for girls, and guys in some ways, and it’s a shame their forgotten or didn’t have much time in the lime light like other princesses
